How to Install a Basement Sink

- Sink
- Faucet
- Drainpipe
- Water supply lines
- P-trap
- Sink strainer
- Plumber's putty
- Teflon tape
- Adjustable wrench
- Pipe wrench
- Hacksaw
- Level
Step 1: Choose the Location for the Sink
The first step is to choose the location for the sink. Make sure it is near a water supply and drain line. If you are installing the sink in a new location, you may need to run new water lines and drainpipes.
Step 2: Prepare the Sink Cabinet
Once you have chosen the location for the sink, you need to prepare the sink cabinet. This may involve cutting a hole in the countertop and installing a support bracket for the sink.
Step 3: Install the Sink
Apply a bead of plumber's putty to the rim of the sink flange. Place the sink in the hole in the countertop and press down firmly. Tighten the bolts that hold the sink in place.
Step 4: Install the Faucet
Wrap the threads of the faucet with Teflon tape. Screw the faucet into the sink hole and tighten it. Connect the water supply lines to the faucet.

Step 6: Test the Sink
Turn on the water supply and check for leaks. If there are any leaks, tighten the connections until they stop.
