How To Build Monkey Bars In Basement

Step 1: Gather your materials.
- 10-foot length of 1-inch galvanized steel pipe
- 8-foot length of 1-inch galvanized steel pipe
- 4-foot length of 1-inch galvanized steel pipe
- 2 floor flanges
- 4 pipe clamps
- 16 bolts and nuts
- Drill
- Wrench
- Level
Step 2: Cut the pipes.
Use a hacksaw to cut the pipes to the following lengths:
- 2 pieces of 10-foot pipe
- 2 pieces of 8-foot pipe
- 4 pieces of 4-foot pipe
Step 3: Assemble the frame.
Lay out the two 10-foot pipes parallel to each other, 4 feet apart. Attach the two 8-foot pipes to the 10-foot pipes using the pipe clamps. Make sure that the pipes are level.
Step 4: Add the monkey bars.
Attach the 4-foot pipes to the frame using the bolts and nuts. Space the monkey bars evenly apart, about 12 inches on center.
Step 5: Install the floor flanges.
Attach the floor flanges to the bottom of the frame. Make sure that the flanges are level and that the bolts are tight.
